No data collected
Playgrid does not offer user accounts and does not collect any data about the user through the app at any time, except when the user contacts the developer directly and chooses to share information. See the Direct Contact section below for further detail.
Apple's data collection
Apple and its partners may collect and provide the developer with anonymized information about app usage, including sales reports, crash logs, and other data. This information, as provided to the developer, cannot be used to personally identify the user. User data stored within the app may also be backed up by Apple or its partners and stored on Apple's servers. Apple's policies govern the collection and use of this data; further information is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
iCloud syncing
Playgrid uses Apple's CloudKit to sync content, metadata, and settings between a user's own devices via iCloud. Account management, server location, storage and transmission methods, security, and related legal matters are controlled by Apple's policies and terms of service. The developer does not host any of this content and is not responsible for the information the user chooses to sync, including its legality or integrity. Playgrid also stores a small status record in the user's own private iCloud database, recording whether the app is unlocked and whether syncing is switched on, so that Playgrid on the web can respond appropriately. This record is written whether or not syncing is enabled, and like all of the above it is readable only by the user's own Apple Account.
Purchases
Playgrid offers an optional Pro upgrade. All purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. The developer never receives payment details, billing addresses, or card information, and the app determines only whether a purchase is currently active, which it reads from Apple's StoreKit on the device.
Children's privacy
Playgrid does not knowingly collect information from any user, including children, as described in this policy.
Direct contact
When the user contacts the developer through email or other direct channels, the developer collects the information provided, which may include the user's name, email address, and message content. This information is used to respond to inquiries and communicate about the app. It is not sold, traded, or otherwise transferred to third parties without the user's consent, except as required by law. Correspondence is retained only as long as needed to address the inquiry, unless a longer period is required by law.
Data protection rights (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, users have the right to access, correct, or erase their personal data, restrict or object to its processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent at any time. As Playgrid does not collect or retain personal data beyond direct correspondence initiated by the user, these rights apply primarily to that correspondence. Requests can be sent to playgrid@bartvanraaij.nl.
Users who believe their data protection rights have been violated may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl, or with their local supervisory authority.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or its data practices. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
